Your winery website should crush your online competitors

Have you ever taken the time to check out other winery websites? Look familiar?
Maybe your website has a beautiful picture of your vineyard, some Flash imagery of your wine being poured gracefully into a glass, a funny snapshot of the family dog, a few frames of people tasting your wine and having a great time. Sounds good, looks good, covers all the bases. It covers everybody's bases, because most likely, other wineries are using the exact same cookie-cutter imagery, just at different locations.

Now, you know what makes your winery stand apart from the rest, what makes your wine even just a little bit different than your competitors, but chances are, whoever is visiting your site doesn’t know that. They might be browsing online to plan our their next wine tasting trip, and they see a bunch of wineries that look great, but they all look the same, so they plan their trip based on criteria that you have little to no control over. Proximity to other wineries, freeways, restaurants etc.

This is your chance to grab a hold of the reins and take control of wine tasting experiences.
Take what makes your winery different and flaunt it all over your website. There’s no shame in using your special something to give people an opportunity they may not have had otherwise (or to have more people come buy your wine and merchandise, of course). Maybe your winery has a little cafe where visitors can taste your wine and enjoy some gourmet food at the same time. Or you feature and sell exquisite local art, or you have outdoor activities like bocce ball or croquet, or you have extended tasting room hours so visitors can experience the incredible view of the sun setting over your vineyard from your tasting room.
You get the idea.

In essence, your goal is to turn your website into a visual representation of your winery and the customer experience you provide. Give customers a reason to come to your winery over the others.

How do you do it?
By implementing exceptional design, partnered with deliberate User Experience (UX), you can leverage technology to create a virtual customer experience, and allow your visitors a sneak peek at what they will receive when coming to your winery.

All visitors need is something to differentiate you from the rest. They see your brand, they see an incredible website, they see something unique about your winery, they associate all three with your wine, and the next thing you know, they’re walking through your door.
