SLO Spotlight: Central Coast Cancer Challenge

Posted in: Blog

The second annual Central Coast Cancer Challenge (CCCC) takes place August 7, 2011 in San Luis Obispo. HATHWAY will be there donning running shoes and tech-tees. That’s right! Not only do we make amazing websites and mobile apps but we’re also athletic and enjoy supporting our local community. We hope you can join us.

For the second year, the CCCC hosts a day of athletic endeavors on the Central Coast benefiting two local charities.  This year’s event will benefit Jack’s Helping Hand of San Luis Obispo, a charity dedicated to helping children with unmet physical and mental needs dues to cancer. Also, proceeds from the CCCC will benefit The Cancer WellFit Program of Santa Barbara. Cancer WellFit helps cancer survivors get back in shape after months of chemotherapy and radiation.

With 1mile/5k/10k walk and run courses as well as 22k/50k/100k bike courses available for your racing pleasure, the CCCC has something for everyone, including HATHWAY. Courses span the beautiful San Luis Obispo County, starting at Laguna Lake in San Luis Obispo.  With three weeks until the big day, registration is still open.

The Central Coast Challenge is put on by Get Off the Couch Potato Productions, a new race production company bringing world-class events to the Central Coast. The company is run by ironwoman/race director, Sam Pruitt and marketing maven/event director Heather Hellman. Look out for amazing things from Sam and Heather as they will bring the first ever, SLO Marathon to the area in April of 2011.
