With last week’s F8 conference, Facebook announced some interesting new changes hitting the platform in the upcoming weeks. If you spend more than a little time on Facebook, you’ve probably noticed some new characteristics. If nothing else you’ve read comments from friends, family and colleagues complaining about how they hate the new Facebook. Yes, let’s complain about how much we hate Facebook, ON Facebook! That makes sense.

None-the-less, one of the most exciting features coming to Facebook soon in the new profile Timeline. It’s a redesign of your profile page that allows you to glance at your pictures, posts and check-in since you were a Facebook infant. Whether you think this is scary or exciting, the Timeline is coming. There are a few dates circulating as to when Timeline will go live. Only Mark Zuckerberg can know. If you want to get your Facebook Timeline up and running NOW, simply follow the steps below:

1. Go to Facebook – Log in
2. Open the Facebook Developer App. You can search for it or find it here.
3. If you’ve never used the App before, you will need to “Allow” it access to your information. Go ahead – Click ALLOW
4. Once the App is installed or you’ve installed the before, click on the “Create New App” button on the top right hand side of the screen.
5. You will be prompted with a naming screen. Go ahead and name your app (feel free to get creative, no one is going to see this). Agree to the Privacy settings and click CONTINUE
6. The next screen is the are-you-really-a-human screen. Fill in the two words it provides you with, separated by a space and click SUBMIT
7. With that, you will need to launch the Open Graph. You do this by clicking on the words “Open Graph” on the left hand column of the screen.
8. Next, fill in the boxes Facebook provides with a verb and a noun. Fear not, if you don’t know what a verb or a noun are, there are examples. Once you have filled in the blanks, click GET STARTED.
9. The next screen will look a little complicated. Good news, just scroll to the bottom and click SAVE CHANGES AND NEXT.
10. Now go to your profile and wait. Do 10 jumping jacks. Knock the wall 3 times and spin in a circle (just kidding, you don’t have to do those things but you might have to wait a few minutes).
11. Eventually your new Timeline will appear. Click PUBLISH NOW and start exploring.
