User Interface Design: Not just a Catchy Term

U.I. Designers are responsible for creative vision, user experience, visual communication, and asset production. Our designers are versatile and multi-faceted. An understanding of web technologies and grasp of the tools is expected of all designers. We also encourage each designer to accent his or her particular interests, whether it be motion, typography, communication or usability.

Job Description

The designer’s job is to contribute various forms of U.I. design and production support to the team. You will be primarily designing interfaces for web, social, and mobile platforms.

• Work closely with your team to execute on the creative strategy for projects by creating viable design schemes for interactive experiences.
• Support all aspects of design and production for your team’s projects, focusing specifically on User Interface design
• Understand and work within project parameters: client goals and requirements, internal goals, usability, technical constraints, as well as budget and schedule
• Cultivate an understanding of industry trends and share your insights with the whole team

Applicant Requirements

• 2-3 years experience designing interactive experiences
• Mastery of Adobe Photoshop & Adobe Illustrator
• Up to date knowledge of web development trends and understanding of technology used in designing interactively (Experience with Premier Pro, AfterEffects & Flash are a plus)
• Excellent communication and client management skills
• Curated portfolio of personal example pieces, a few live site examples will be considered a plus
• Ability to work in our office in San Luis Obispo
